Medicine & Health Collaborative Seed Grant Initiatives

Personalise
Green Energy Concept With Glowing Lights

The Collaborative Seed Grant Scheme, proudly funded by UNSW Medicine & Health, empowers Early and Mid-Career Researchers (EMCRs) to lead innovative, cross-disciplinary projects. These grants provide essential seed funding to foster new collaborations between scientists and clinicians across various disciplines and faculties.

The 2026 scheme specifically seeks proposals that define and address research questions driven by community and clinical need, spanning from discovery research to implementation-focused research.

A core aim of this scheme is to enhance the competitiveness of EMCRs for future external grant funding, providing a clear pathway to sustain and build more ambitious research programs. To promote wide-ranging impact, all research projects must involve at least two distinct UNSW and affiliated organisational units (e.g., Schools, MRIs, LHDs).

By supporting high-quality, impactful collaborations, this scheme directly aligns with UNSW's strategic goals to Deliver Impact (Pillar 2), Secure Australia's Future (Pillar 4), Attract, Grow and Empower Talent (Pillar 7), and Lead in our Region (Pillar 3).
