I am a Lecturer in the School of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at UNSW. I am the joint Director of Studies (Computer Science) and coordinator of the Elite Students Program. I teach algorithms and competitive programming.
I am the UNSW coach for extracurricular competitive programming, having earned the ICPC Coach Award for taking seven UNSW teams to ICPC World Finals (winning a Silver Medal in 2018). I serve as the Vice President of the South Pacific Competitive Programming Association. I am one of the convenors of the UNSW High Schools Programming Competition (ProgComp).
My research is in the field of computing education, focusing primarily on assessment and metacognition.
I completed my PhD with the School of Mathematics and Statistics at UNSW in 2020. My thesis was on maximum generalised roundness properties of metric spaces arising from graphs. My undergraduate degree was in computer science and mathematics, also at UNSW.
