School engagement activities 

Experience Australia's #1 university for employment outcomes (QS World University Rankings, 2026). Your students can explore our campus and chat with current university students. They can discover potential careers and join workshops that match their passions. They can also learn about UNSW from the comfort of their own homes. We provide a range of outreach and engagement activities for curious minds. 

Campus tours

For approximately two hours, your students will discover the essential facilities across our vibrant campus with a friendly Student Ambassador, who will also deliver an informative presentation. We can also arrange a visit to the Museum of Human Disease depending on capacity and availability.

We come to you with insights into our courses, the UNSW student experience, and our vibrant community. Our experienced Student Ambassador team of current students deliver presentations that typically run for 30-40 minutes, include a Q&A session and can be tailored to suit your needs.

  • Biology, Geoscience, Geography, Environment and Climate Science

    Access a list of interactive educational activities and links to engaging lectures presented by experts in the field, and learn more about NSW Science Teachers Association's annual BEEINS (Biology, Earth & Environmental Sciences and Investigating Science) conference.

    Chemistry

    UNSW School of Chemistry delivers workshops, expos and lectures as part of faculty and university-wide initiatives like the ASPIRE program, Nura Gili Summer School and L'Oreal Women in Science events. 

    Materials Science and Engineering resources

    Access materials science and engineering tutorials and lesson plans from our researchers, students and staff across HSC Engineering Studies, Physics and Chemistry.

    Mathematics and Statistics

    Access mathematics and statistics resources to improve the quality of mathematics education, and explore our Do The Maths workshops, designed to encourage female students to consider maths as a career.

    Physics and Astronomy

    The physics and astronomy programs at UNSW cater for school group (primary and secondary) excursions and the general public alike. Our programs cover topical and scientific subjects from the NSW school syllabus in a fun and highly interactive manner. Additional physics depth study resources are also available. 

    The School of Physics runs face to face professional learning courses and UNSW Science has developed a number of online professional development modules. Also, learn more about the Graduate Certificate in Physics for Science Teachers.

  • Access a centralised network of economics education resources and opportunities courtesy of the Consortium for Inclusive Economics Education (CIEE).

    CIEE's aim is to promote inclusion, equity and quality in economics education and economic literacy.

  • Civil Engineering outreach programs

    UNSW's School of Civil and Environmental Engineering partners with IAC to run an annual work experience program promoting engineering career options for Year 10 students.

    Engineering work experience programs and engineering resources

    Our hands-on work experience programs are a great way for Year 10 students to get a taste of uni life, connect with the industry and discover where a career in engineering could take them.

    You can also explore our range of practical resources from our engineering schools to seamlessly integrate into your classroom curriculum and inspire the next generation of budding engineers!

Download our 2026 Domestic Undergraduate Student Guide

Our student guide is the essential comprehensive reference for all things undergraduate at UNSW. The guide covers everything from our degrees, pathways, how to apply and our student experience

Please note: This guide is best suited for our domestic undergraduate student audience. Students are considered 'domestic' if they are an Australian citizen, permanent resident or permanent humanitarian visa holder, or a New Zealand citizen. 

Key dates

UAC applications open

UAC applications for domestic undergraduate study open in early April each year. Check the UAC website for more information.

UNSW Info Day

Join us on campus in December 2026 for Info Day. It's the perfect opportunity for students to get their last-minute questions answered on the day ATARs are released. The date will be confirmed later in the year.

UNSW Open Day

Open Day is in September. It's the perfect opportunity to explore campus life and speak with our advisers to learn more about our courses and admissions pathways.

Offers are released

Offers are released in December 2026 for December Round 2. Students will only receive one offer in each offer round. The date will be confirmed by UAC later in the year.

Preference deadlines

In December 2026, students receive their HSC results and ATAR. UAC's December Round 2 preferences close (our first major offer round). The date will be confirmed by UAC later in the year.
