Dr Mehrdad Mansouri

I am a Research Fellow at the Centre for Big Data Research in Health (CBDRH), UNSW Sydney. My research focuses on developing and applying causal and interpretable machine learning methods to uncover structures and relationships in clinical, genomic, and public health data. I am particularly interested in causal discovery, explainable models, and pattern discovery, with an emphasis on real-world use.

My academic background spans Artificial Intelligence, Electrical Engineering, and Philosophy. Prior to joining UNSW, I completed my PhD in Computer Science at Simon Fraser University in 2022 and served as a Principal Researcher within the Genomic and Outcomes Databank for Pharmacogenomic and Implementation Studies (GO-PGx).
