Large language models (chatbots) have become increasingly accessible. These chatbots could enhance patient education by complementing advice from eyecare providers. However, previous work shows that only 24% of frequently asked questions on age-related macular degeneration are effectively addressed by chatbots' responses. This project investigates whether using curated data sources can improve the efficacy of a custom chatbot compared to standard models.
