In November, UNSW exhibited the work of 500 final year students in the remarkable setting of Sydney’s White Bay Power Station.
Each year UNSW Built Environment partner with White Bay Power Station to showcase the projects of final year students across Architecture, Interior Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Construction, Property Development, City Planning, Industrial Design and Computational Design.
In 2025, the exhibition was designed, organised and run by 55 UNSW Built Environment students, under the leadership of Dr Kate Dunn. To prepare them for such an undertaking, students sat a dedicated course on exhibition design and curation as part of their degrees.
Across four days the exhibition welcomed 3,000 members of the community, industry, students, families, friends and schools to view the work and celebrate our graduating cohorts’ many achievements. The exhibition also included three dedicated industry workshops and panel discussions entitled ‘Adaptive Reuse: Carbon, Culture and Housing’, ‘Designing the Future’ and ‘AI and Architectural Education’.
The School of Built Environment would like to thank our event sponsors, and in particular gold and platinum sponsors Bates Smart, BVN, Good Design Australia, King Living and Iconic Scaffolding. In addition, to our hosts, Placemaking NSW and White Bay Power Station.
However, our biggest thanks and congratulations go to our graduating students. Their exhibited work demonstrates that this next generation of city makers and designers have the skills and empathy to tackle the most pressing urban challenges we face in the years ahead.
